'Fish' is one of two original artworks created for UpFest 2026, inspired by the street scenes of North Street in Bristol - arguably one of the UK's great street-art destinations.
Alongside its brother, 'Chips', the piece imagines the massive birds that look down on an otherwise unremarkable street scene, oberserving the unsuspecting comings and goings of the pedestrians below.
The artwork is created from salvaged billboard posters, collaged and stitched together with imagery drawn from Bristol's streets. The result is a layered, textured piece that brings together fragments of the city and asks us to imagine 'what lays underneath' - both in the history of the streets, but also in the environmental challenge we are now facing.
